BPS of Lampung Selatan Holds Sectoral Statistics Development to Improve Data Quality and NSS

Kalianda, May 8, 2025 — The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Lampung Selatan Regency held a Sectoral Statistics Development (PSS) activity via online attended by representatives from various regional agencies across Lampung Selatan Regency. This event aimed to strengthen understanding and synergy among institutions in improving the quality of sectoral statistical data and supporting the enhancement of the Statistical Development Index (IPS).

 

The event, held on May 8, 2025, was officially opened by Mr. Rosadi Zein, Head of the General Subdivision of BPS Lampung Selatan Regency. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration to establish a reliable, up-to-date, and integrated statistical system as a foundation for policy-making and development planning.

 

Following the opening session, the program continued with presentations on data quality and the National Statistical System (SSN) delivered by four speakers from BPS Lampung Selatan. Participants received comprehensive insights into sectoral statistical principles, the importance of metadata, and concrete steps to improve the quality of data produced by each government agency.

 

The event concluded with a Q&A session, interactive discussion, and a joint commitment to continue supporting the development of regional statistics through the ongoing implementation of the Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics Implementation (EPSS). All participants agreed that strengthening sectoral statistics is a key factor in driving future improvements in the IPS.

 

Through this activity, BPS Lampung Selatan reaffirmed its role as a sectoral data advisor and strategic partner for local governments in building high-quality, transparent, and accountable data governance.
