Lampung Selatan BPS Holds Launch Ceremony for the 2026 Economic Census

The event was attended by the Regional Secretary, Forkopimda, OPD agencies, and business owners in Lampung Selatan.

 

The event began with the launch of the 2026 Economic Census as a demonstration of a shared commitment to supporting the provision of accurate, comprehensive, and reliable economic data.

 

The 2026 Economic Census is a national initiative conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to obtain a comprehensive picture of Indonesia’s economic conditions and structure as a basis for development planning and targeted policy-making.

 

In his remarks, Mr. Supriyanto stated that the success of the 2026 Economic Census requires the support of all parties, particularly business owners as respondents. The data collected will serve as a crucial foundation for the formulation of regional and national economic development programs.

 

The event continued with the striking of a gong to mark the official start of the 2026 Economic Census in the region. The ceremony symbolized the shared commitment of the local government, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and all stakeholders to ensuring the success of the economic data collection effort.

 

The event then continued with a symbolic vest-presentation ceremony for BPS partners who will play a role in conducting fieldwork for the 2026 Economic Census. This ceremony served as both a token of appreciation and a reaffirmation of the statistical partners’ commitment to carrying out their data collection duties professionally, objectively, and responsibly.

 

Next, a plaque was presented as a symbol of cooperation and synergy between the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the local government in supporting the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census. The presentation of the plaque reflects both parties’ commitment to continuing to strengthen their collaboration in providing high-quality statistical data to support regional planning and development.

 

The event concluded with a “Filling Out Together” session for the 2026 Economic Census questionnaire, during which business owners filled out the questionnaire in person with assistance from BPS staff. This activity is expected to increase the response rate and expedite the data collection process in the field.

 

Through these launch events, outreach activities, and collaborative data collection efforts, it is hoped that all segments of society—particularly business owners—will actively participate in ensuring the success of the 2026 Economic Census, thereby producing accurate, high-quality economic data that is beneficial for regional development and the well-being of the community.
