Lampung Selatan EPSS Meeting: Efforts to Increase the Value of the Statistical Development Index

Lampung Selatan, 19 June 2024 – On Wednesday, 19 June 2024, an evaluation meeting was held for the implementation of the Evaluation of the Implementation of Sectoral Statistics (EPSS) in Lampung Selatan. This meeting took place in the meeting room of the Lampung Selatan Regency BAPPEDA office, discussing the results of the assessment of EPSS activities carried out by the Lampung Selatan Internal Assessment Team (TPI) and the Pringsewu Regency BPS Agency Assessment Team (TPB).

 

The initial assessment by TPI Lampung Selatan showed a Statistical Development Index (IPS) value of 2.87. However, after TPB BPS Pringsewu Regency assessed and checked the 38 Lampung Selatan EPSS indicators from 1 to 9 June 2024, the Lampung Selatan IPS score decreased to 2.60. From the results of this assessment, it was found that of the 38 indicators, there were 8 indicators that experienced changes in value or maturity level, and all of them experienced a decline.

 

During the meeting, 8 EPSS indicators which experienced a decline in value were specifically discussed. The discussion focused on the causes of these changes, deficiencies and weaknesses in the supporting evidence that resulted in the decrease in value. The meeting resulted in a decision that the two Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) of the EPSS sample locus, namely the Food Security Service and the Lampung Selatan Health Service, must immediately complete the supporting evidence that has been agreed to be provided and completed.

 

If possible, a follow-up meeting will be held on Monday, June 24 2024, to check the completeness of the evidence supporting the 8 EPSS indicators as well as preparations for the interview/interview by the Pringsewu Regency TPB which is planned to be held on June 27 2024.

 

These steps are expected to increase the IPS score in Lampung Selatan and ensure that the implementation of sectoral statistics runs according to established standards.
