Abstract

Monitoring of development outcomes is absolutely necessary to see the extent to which the development that has been carried out is beneficial for improving people's welfare, so that the next development programs can be more optimal. The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) held by BPS is one of the sources of information to obtain an overview of the socio-economic conditions of the community.
Regional autonomy gives birth to data needs at the Regency / City level. These data are needed by the district / city government as a basis for policy formulation and evaluation of development programs. Answering these needs, starting in 2015, Susenas data collection was carried out in March with a sample of 300,000 households, allowing estimation to the district / city level. The Susenas management has also been refined so that the March Susenas results can be published in the same year.
Susenas produces a variety of cross-sectoral statistics including: school participation and the ability to read and write for education; health problems, utilization of health facilities, health insurance, breastfeeding for children, and immunization for children under five for the health sector; birth attendants, first marriage age, family planning participation, and the average number of children born for fertility and family planning; condition of residence, source of water for drinking, cooking, bathing and washing for housing; ownership of HP, internet access in the utilization of information technology, and government assistance / programs for the welfare of the community.
Susenas also collects consumption and household expenditure data for both food and non-food commodities. From the data obtained the average consumption and household expenditure as well as the average consumption of calories and protein per capita. Consumption data and expenditures detailed according to commodity groups can provide an overview of the consumption patterns of the population in a region.
This publication presents statistics that have been considered to adequately represent various fields and socio-economic conditions of the community by considering the eligibility requirements of estimates at the Regency / City level as indicated by the value of Relative Standard Error (RSE) included in the appendix.
