Lampung Selatan, 31 May 2024 - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Lampung Selatan Regency successfully held training on the Agricultural Economic Survey (SEP) as a continuation of the 2023 Agricultural Census. This training was attended by 16 officers consisting of partners and organic employees of BPS South Lampung Regency.

The SEP training was carried out in two stages, namely online on 27-28 May 2024 and offline at the Arte Hotel, Bandar Lampung on 30-31 May 2024. This training was officially opened by the Head of BPS South Lampung Regency, Mr. Arif Rahman Maulana. Also attending the training were staff from the Lampung Selatan Regency Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantation Service.

In his speech, Mr. Arif Rahman Maulana emphasized the importance of this training as an effort to improve the quality of agricultural economic data which will be used as a basis for formulating agricultural development policies in South Lampung Regency. "Accurate and reliable data is very necessary to formulate appropriate and effective policies to support the agricultural sector in our region," he said.

The online training which took place over the first two days included introductory material and survey techniques delivered by the Regional Instructor, Mr Yoga Gumbira. Participants are given an in-depth understanding of survey concepts and methods and the use of digital applications that support survey implementation in the field.

Furthermore, offline training at Hotel Arte focuses on direct practice and survey simulations in the field. Participants are invited to practice conducting interviews with respondents and filling out questionnaires according to established standards. Apart from that, they were also given material about survey ethics and how to overcome various challenges that might be faced when conducting surveys.

Staff from the Lamsel Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantation Service who attended this event provided full support for the implementation of the SEP training. They hope that through this training, the synergy between BPS and related agencies can become closer in order to realize more advanced and sustainable agriculture in South Lampung Regency.

By the end of this training, it is hoped that all survey officers will be able to carry out their duties professionally and produce high quality data, which will later be used to develop the agricultural sector in South Lampung Regency.
