Margo Yuwono, The New Head of BPS-Statistics

Jakarta - History has been engraved again for BPS. It was recorded that since today (25/6), the number one person in the institution authorized to collect basic statistics was determined through Presidential Decree No. 79 of 2021.

Conducted virtually, the Head of the National Development Planning Agency, Suharso Monoarfa, officially inaugurated Margo Yuwono as Head of BPS. Margo, who previously served as Principal Secretary, replaced Kecuk Suhariyanto. Kecuk ended his service as head of BPS because he had entered his retirement period.

The inauguration which took place in strict adherence to health protocols was witnessed by the selection committee, members of the DPR, K/L leaders, and all BPS employees through the Youtube channel.

"The government and the entire Indonesian nation hope that BPS can improve their work and produce quality and reliable data. In the current era of digitalization, the role of credible data is very important," said Suharso in his speech.

Suharso also did not forget to thank the Kecuk for its contribution to the nation and state while serving as Head of BPS.
